Design Resources

For many homeowners, the most exciting part of purchasing a new home is being able to design a new space to fit their personalities and lifestyles. As a design enthusiast myself, I wanted to take the opportunity to provide a few online resources to help with your design goals. Whether you’ve just moved into a new space or are looking to redesign your existing space, these few links will come in handy:

Apartment Therapy

My favorite resource for design inspiration. Coverage on almost everything interior design related and more. The most inspirational posts on Apartment Therapy, in my opinion, are the house tours. They’re fascinating inside looks into the homes of other design enthusiasts around the globe. Not only do they profile the homeowner/renter, they usually cite where most of the furniture was purchased and what their personal design inspirations are. It’s unlike any design site on the web.

Houzz

If you’re looking for one location to collect all of the design inspiration you run into online, this is the site for you. Aside from serving as an online ideabook, it’s also one of the best overall online resources for design inspiration.

Etsy

I believe every home should have handmade and local made products integrated in its design. Etsy is one of the best platforms for individual artisans to get their products out to the people. If you’re not already familiar with Etsy, take the time to explore the site. You’re likely to run into some amazing products for your home.

Fab

A site that is growing exponentially by every day. This site began as a flash sale site for interior design products and evolved into a complete online resource for interior design products, inspiration, community and design resource.
